Jamo C605 Review: This Floorstanding Speaker Sounds As “Classy” As It Looks
If you’re looking for that refined Danish sound without spending a fortune, then these Jamo Hi Fi speakers may just be the right set of speakers for you. Elegant as well as affordable, these speakers are a winning combination.
The Jamo C605 are such nice looking speakers, you’ll want to match the rest of your decor to compliment them. You can just tell by the craftsmanship that these speakers were designed with quality in mind.
The greatest thing about the Jamo C605 is the way they reproduce sound. They could easily be mistaken for with speakers costing much more. Danish speakers are known for their accurate reproduction of music and superb imaging. These Jamo Hi Fi speakers are no exception.
The Jamo C605 can be described as a linear and coherent speaker. Their 6″ drivers will produce bass that extends all the way down to the upper 30Hz range pretty accurately and with good response considering it’s low price. As for the tweeters, they are open and detailed without that added brightness. Mid-range is excellent and transparent. Acoustic guitars and stringed instruments sound excellent. Bass drums sound tight and punchy.Vocals sound very smooth and natural. You can literally hear every instrument, which indicates great separation and dynamics.

Besides their ability to reproduce musical recordings so smoothly, they will serve well in home theater applications when paired with the matching Jamo center speaker, the Jamo C60 CEN… while using the Jamo C60 SUR, as your surrounds. You will get so involved in your movies, you’ll forget these speakers are even there! This “disappearing act” is something that only a few speakers (typically expensive hi fi speakers) are capable of doing. Throw a competent subwoofer of your choice into the mix and you’ve got yourself an amazing home theater/music system that will satisfy your ears for many years to come.

They are very pleasant sounding loudspeakers and best suited for those that appreciate a linear and dynamical speaker without appearing too bright or too forward. Those that prefer a really colorful speaker, probably won’t appreciate these loudspeakers. Those that do like a well balanced speaker, these speakers will really suprise you. You’ll have a hard time finding this kind of quality in floorstanding speakers that cost under $1000. These beauties are well below that at $600 for the pair. Expect to see more great offerings from Jamo in the future, as they are still a fairly new name in audio here in the U.S. Jamo has been around since the late 60’s but it was just recently that they have become known here in the States, thanks to Klipsch. I anticipate hearing more rave reviews about Jamo speakers in the near future. I give them 5 out of 5 stars all day long!
